Meet Sam
Sam Manning grew up in a small town in northern Connecticut and was heavily influenced by the kindness and empathy of his mother. She was a huge role model in his life and always pushed him to be a kind person whenever possible. When he was 11 he sewed pillows with his mom's old sewing machine and wrote positive messages on them. He wanted to sell them to raise awareness for the homelessness problem in America. He called it "Positive Pillows for People in Need". He sold a few pillows, but never got the project off the ground.
After graduating college in May of 2024, Sam decided not to start his climb up the corporate ladder and instead opted to explore all of what life had to offer. He packed his life in his car and drove West from Boston with no destination in mind. 11,000 miles later he finally landed in Santa Barbara County in southern California. It was there that The Kind Card Project was born. He started making cards with positive messages and handed them out to strangers just to spread positivity. He then realized he could sell the cards, and with every card he sold give another card to someone random. He saw that he could connect the kindness of one person with a totally different person in the world, and create a butterfly effect himself.
11 years later the essence of his first project lives on, as he aims to spread positivity to as many people possible. By connecting two strangers through kindness, he sees The Kind Card Project to represent something much larger than himself. He hopes to inspire others and be a force for good in the world.
